ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 31, 2013) — Kathy Sheehan, Democratic nominee for Mayor of Albany, has received the endorsement of New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.

Cuomo cited Sheehan’s dedicated approach to solving municipal issues with a regional focus.

582 contributors give to Democratic mayoral candidate between January and July

ALBANY, N.Y. (July 15, 2013) — Kathy Sheehan, Democrat for Mayor of Albany, has raised $142,741 in campaign contributions from her supporters, according to her July 2013 Board of Elections fundraising filing.

Sheehan’s campaign has just over $83,000 cash on hand going into the final weeks of the primary campaign.

“I am so appreciative of the support we have received from all corners of our city and beyond. People are responding to our positive campaign, my commitment to moving Albany forward, and creating a government that meets the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century,” said Sheehan.

Sheehan received contributions from 582 supporters, with the average donation amounting to just over $200.

“It is great to have such widespread grassroots support,” said Sheehan. “With growing financial support and our recent filing of more than 6,300 signatures on my designating petition, we’re entering the final weeks of this primary with great momentum.”

Of the $142,741 raised, $134,411 can be used towards the primary election, while the remaining $8,330 will be used towards the general election.

Campaign files designating petitions for ballot access in Democratic primary

ALBANY, N.Y. (July 10, 2013) — Kathy Sheehan, Democratic candidate for Mayor of Albany, has submitted designating petitions with the Albany County Board of Elections for the upcoming primary election on Sept. 10.

More than 220 volunteers for Sheehan’s campaign collected 6,315 signatures on her designating petitions, which is more than six times the minimum amount of signatures required to get on the ballot.

“I want to thank every one of our volunteers who spread out across the city and collected thousands of signatures to get me on the ballot for the upcoming primary election. The support I received from people who spent their time and braved torrential downpours and stifling heat is humbling. This is truly a grassroots effort — a campaign powered by residents from every neighborhood in Albany.
